Our dear friend Julie teaches at the Logan-Hocking Schools and applied for (and was granted) enough funds to purchase her art class a “Chomp Saw!” I’ll admit, I’d not hear of a “Chomp Saw” until she requested it, but it turns out its a small tool that allows artists to safely & easily cut cardboard to make 3D art. Very, very cool.

On behalf of our students and school community, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to AAMP for awarding us a grant to purchase two Chomp saws for our elementary art program. Athens Artist Memorial Project’s generous support has already made a meaningful impact in our classroom, and we are so grateful for your investment in the creative development of young artists in southeastern Ohio.
With the addition of these Chomp saws, our students will have the tools to explore new forms of visual expression with greater precision and independence. These tools will open up opportunities for framing their own artwork, experimenting with printmaking, and creating mixed-media projects that would not have been possible otherwise. It’s truly inspiring to see their pride and excitement grow as they gain confidence in their abilities.
We deeply appreciate AAMP’s commitment to supporting arts education in our region. Their dedication to honoring artists through these grants is not only a tribute to their legacy but a powerful gift to the next generation of creators.
