Our Story

What began as a movement to memorialize our fallen artistic friends, evolved into force for good, helping people in Southeast Ohio pursue their passions. In 2021 Athens Artists Memorial Project became a federally recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit. In 2026, we became THE ATHENS ARTISTS PROJECT, dropping “Memorial”, aiming to focus more on the future than the past, and to avoid confusion with our friends and partners, the  Stuarts Afterschool Music Program, (AMP).

We believe everyone should have access to artistic endeavors, regardless of place or circumstance.
We solicite funding from those who can provide, channeling it to those who need a hand.
