Daniel J Martino Athens Ohio

Tito Teets, aka Daniel J Martino was an artist, musician, poet, best friend to many, loving father and a beloved son and brother.

Not many folks could hold a spirit that big within their humanly form and Tito certainly did just that, having an instant impact on anybody who crossed paths with him. He was generous, loving, outspoken and ridiculous.

Tito found his way to Athens in the 90s driven by his artistic spirit. He made friends immediately, joining the Hip Hop Congress, a round table dedicated to creating & preserving a unique hip-hop community in Southeast Ohio. He helped create a unique blend of self expression and funky hip-hop found in the rolling hills of Athens that extends well into today.

Hailing from Canton in Northeast Ohio, he embodied the north-eastern spirit with hard work, hard-nosed dedication, blue-collar Italian mightiness, industry town strength and a die hard love for the Cleveland Browns.

He brought that tenacity to the stage with Doxcity, Poets Wit Prose, Garbage People (to name a few musical projects) as the shows were always jampacked full of local and regional musicians, staggering versus, comedic limerick, strong punchlines and big love for the human condition.

It’s hard to really encompass the essence of our dear friend Tito, he was so many things to so many people all at once, but what he will always be is a best friend to so many and a strong willed, honest and kind hearted loving father to Calla Bear.

For Math and Science, Science and Math. Tito Teets is Forever…
