We donated $1,000.00 to the Canaanville Arts Center for a kiln,a thermally insulated oven that uses high temperatures for processes like hardening, drying, or causing chemical changes in materials. It is commonly used to fire clay into pottery, bricks, and tiles, but it also has applications in industries for drying lumber, processing ores, and melting glass
The Canaanville Arts Center is located at 8773 Mine Road, in Athens, Ohio.
“Good afternoon AAMP – I’m writing to send you some pics of the kilns we’re installing power for with the generous grant funding the AAMP provided us. I’m also including some additional pictures for context- an atmospheric kiln we just fired (before & during) and one of the wheel in my studio.” – Mark Jones
