Maria, KC and Stephanie had a blast representing Athens Artists Memorial Project with our booth at the Athens Farmers & Arts Market in October!

It was a chilly but beautiful morning, and we were so happy to see so many Athenians turn out! We got the opportunity to share info. about our non-profit with tons of people, many of whom said the had not yet heard of us but were thrilled by our mission.

Bunches of kids decked out in Halloween costumes played with the instruments that we brought along (just for that purpose) and we had a wildly popular “guess how many candy corn in the jar” contest. The winner was off by just one digit and won a slide whistle and green metal kazoo!

In addition to candy we handed out AAMP stickers and blue egg shakers to all the kids that were thrilled (even if their family members might regret it in the future).

While our donation jar got some love (make YOUR tax deductible donation), the big donation of the day came when we received a visit from a lady named Cathy when she stopped by to chat. Later that morning, she came back and explained that she had a lonely but beautiful barely used acoustic guitar that she never played and donated it to us on the spot! We promised to find it a loving and deserving home that would give it the attention that it deserved. What a great little community we have here!

A big Thank You to the Athens Art Guild for inviting us and allowing us to participate in this super fun event!!
