We received a request from a local social worker who applied on behalf of his 77 year old client, Linda. He wrote:
“My client is has no transportation and has a hard time leaving the home due to physical challenges. She often feels isolated and lonely. She is a lifelong music lover and can play guitar, but doesn’t own one. She on a very tight, fixed income, and is unable to purchase one. The ability to play guitar at home would provide her a hobby and help her mental health.”
This is EXACTLY the type of thing we LOVE to do!
(Linda’s social worker, Paul, and Roman, our Board President at Blue Eagle.)
We met with her social worker at our local Blue Eagle music store who had a beautiful acoustic (and electric!) guitar starter kit that included a full sized guitar, stand, tuner, strap, and case. He took it to her later that day and he wrote to us afterwards
“I delivered the guitar to Linda. She said she couldn’t believe it and was completely overjoyed. She said “I can’t believe my good fortune, this is one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me.”
We were THRILLED to purchase this guitar for Linda! Also happy to purchase it through our locally owned music store, which, it turns out, she used to visit when she was young!
We are only able to do these types of things thanks to our wonderful donors!
If you would like to help more folks like Linda to have art and music in their lives, and the joy they bring, please donate.
