No wonder we’re running out of funding, we’ve been granting awards to aspiring artists around Southeast Ohio like mad! Please donate today to keep our mission going strong.
The photo above captures a meaningful moment as the Athens Artists Project proudly supports music education in the Logan-Hocking School District. In response to a request from elementary music teacher Daniel Bolin, we helped fund additional classroom ukuleles to better serve young students. With limited resources spread across multiple schools, these instruments will ensure more children—especially new and left-handed students—have the opportunity to fully participate in music class. This donation helps expand access to hands-on learning and enriches the musical experience for students throughout the district.
The photo above highlights another impactful investment in local creativity, as the Athens Artists Project supports emerging artist Sarah. This grant provides essential materials to help her grow across multiple artistic disciplines, including crafting service dog gear, wire-wrapped jewelry, and painting. With access to better tools and supplies, Sarah is able to refine her techniques, experiment with new materials, and create higher-quality work. Beyond skill development, this support also helps her build confidence and continue pursuing her goal of sharing her art with the broader community.
The photo above reflects a meaningful moment of support for a local family, as the Athens Artists Project helps provide a guitar and lessons for 13-year-old Allison. Facing challenges with anxiety and depression, Allison has expressed a strong interest in learning music—an opportunity that could offer both creative expression and emotional relief. With additional responsibilities at home, including caring for her younger sister with special needs, this support opens the door for Allison to explore a new passion and find a positive, enriching outlet through music.
The photo above highlights the impact of the Athens Artists Memorial Project’s generous support of programming at the Community Makerspace. Through its mission of honoring local artists by continuing their legacy, the organization helps expand access to creative opportunities for people across the region. This funding will go toward essential supplies and equipment for classes and shared workspaces, ensuring the Makerspace remains a welcoming environment where community members can learn, collaborate, and create together.
We are deeply grateful to our generous donors who make this work possible. Your support allows us to continue expanding access to the arts, uplifting creativity, and investing directly in individuals and organizations throughout our community. If you believe in the power of the arts to inspire, connect, and transform lives, we invite you to join us—please consider making a donation today and help us continue this important mission.
